2013 Shop With A Cop

12/19/2013

Another year come and gone, and once again the residents and supporters of the Knox County Sheriff's Department Police Benevolent and Protective Association Unit #101 have helped to brighten the hearts and faces of many Knox County school children.  Although the weather caused a few children to cancel their participation in Shop-With-A-Cop, we were still able to take 58 children shopping at the Galesburg Wal-Mart this past Saturday, as well as presenting Wal-Mart employees with a $2,500.00 check to be used to provide for the needs of children whose names were on the Angel Tree.   The children were also treated with a special visit from Mr. and Mrs. Clause and a photograph to commemorate the day as well as a cookie and pop donated by Subway and Wal-Mart.

But without the continued support of the Knox County residents and the area business community none of this would be possible and I would like to thank each and every one of you and wish you a great holiday season.  I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. and Mrs. Clause for their continued support of our program, Wal-Mart for allowing us to add to the hectic holiday season, Knox County Sheriff David Clague, and all of the Knox County Deputies for giving up their free time to make this happen.
